Dr. Bendre has been a relentless advocate in the implementation of Planetree, one of Delnor's leading strategic initiatives. Planetree is a non-profit membership organization that has been working with hospitals and health care centers since 1978 to help them create healing environments that center care around the patient. He was part of the initial team responsible for researching patient care models and bringing Planetree to Delnor. In 2005, when the hospital committed to the Planetree initiative, he agreed to be the physician champion and assist in the organization of the Physician Advisory Team. He was subsequently elected chairman of that team and has guided the advisory team's charter. Dr. Bendre also served as co-writer in developing policy for patients' access to their medical records. He has made many contributions to the quality of patient care within the Delnor Health System, and it is for these reasons why Dr. Bendre was honored with the Outstanding Service to Delnor-Community Health System Award.

Dr. Bendre is board-certified in therapeutic radiology. He graduated from Robert W. Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ, and completed his residency at St. Mary's Medical Center. A fellowship followed at California Endocurietherapy Cancer Center in Oakland, CA. He joined the Delnor medical staff in 2001.
