Lunch Check Program

The Delnor Lunch Check is a healthy-eating incentive program that is designed to encourage children to make healthy food choices at lunch.  Children in each participating school first see a short nutrition presentation highlighting the new food pyramid, the 'mypyramid'.  The classroom teachers then select day(s) to 'check' the students' lunches for healthy food choices.  Each child found to have made healthy choices is awarded a $5 gift certificate for the Heartland Cafe located in the Delnor Health & Wellness Center.  The student is also entered in a drawing to win an insulated lunch bag.
