is the nation's single leading cause of death. About 479,000 Americans
will die from a heart attack this year. Sixty-five million adults age 20
and over have high blood pressure. Approximately 35 million Americans
suffer from high cholesterol levels of 240 or higher - the point at which it
becomes a major risk factor for heart disease. Close to 65 percent of all
Americans age 20 and older are overweight or obese.
