Magnet® Designation In 2004, Delnor Hospital was the first non-academic facility in Illinois to receive Magnet status.  In July 2008, Delnor was redesignated with Magnet, joining Rush University Medical  Center and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital as having this honor. Professional Practice Awards The Professional Practice Award is a prestigious honor awarded quarterly to a Delnor staff nurse who exemplifies the forces of Magnet® in his or her everyday work. Recipients of the award are passionate about nursing, respected by their  peer group and committed to seeking challenges that elevate the practice of  nursing.
