It takes just ten seconds for Delnor’s 64-slice CT
scanner to capture superior, precise images of your body. Called the
Aquilion 64 CFX, the new scanner provides in
credibly precise images so quickly
that it may someday eliminate the need for certain invasive procedures and some
exploratory surgeries.
CT scans produce images of the body that are cross-sectional, somewhat like
slices in a loaf of bread. Unlike conventional X-ray, in CT the X-ray beam
moves completely around the patient, gathering information from hundreds of
different angles. The computer then takes these images and puts them
together in a three-dimensional picture of the body.
During a CT exam, the patient lies on a table and is slowly moved through the
scanner’s donut-shaped opening. Once inside, a series of X-ray beams
create hundreds of cross-sectional pictures that represent slices of the
patient’s body, including organs not visualized by standard x-rays. Within
seconds, the system’s computer assembles the slices into the 3-D images that are
then interpreted by a radiologist. The images from the CT are unmatched
when looking at soft tissue such as muscles, body tissue, organs and blood
vessels.
This multislice imaging and its inherent speed is very useful for scanning
patients who are unable to hold their breath. It is especially beneficial
for trauma patients, children and acutely ill individuals. The system also
accommodates large and taller patients due it ability to expand its
field-of-view to allow for patient size and clinical needs. Due to its
efficiency in detecting problems in soft tissue, the Aquilion offers physicians
a new way to diagnose and treat patients.

Toshiba has a Sure-Dose system that allows us to use the most effective
minimal dose to the patient while still offering maximum power to obtain optimum
resolution.
