The Sleep Disorder Center recently earned accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The AASM is the largest professional medical society for clinicians, researchers and other health-care providers in the field of sleep medicine and is considered to be the gold standard.
Delnor is also among the very few in Illinois accredited by the American Sleep Disorder Association (ASDA). Patients referred to the Sleep Center will be evaluated by a certified sleep physician prior to undergoing a comprehensive set of evaluations. If a sleep study is recommended, you will spend one or two nights in a home-like bedroom setting where you will be monitored for several physiological responses, including heart rate, oxygen saturation, brain wave activity and limb movement, to name a few. You'll leave our Sleep Lab to resume your normal daytime schedule while the results of the study will be reviewed by physicians with special training in sleep medicine. They will then discuss their recommendations with your primary care physician, who will follow up with any necessary treatment or medication.
The Sleep Disorders Center is located within Delnor Hospital on 3 North. This location provides private rooms and complete privacy and comfort. Please call (630) 463-4545 for more information.
