Functional Foot Clinic A specialty program of Delnor's Rehabilitation Services Department, the Functional Foot Clinic focuses on the biomechanics of the foot and ankle as they relate to the rest of the body. Treatment begins with assessment of the foot and ankle structures with attention to how they impact body mechanics and function.
The functional assessment includes an evaluation of dynamic gait. The therapist observes the foot and ankle in motion, and examines a person's footprint to determine patterns of weight bearing. The function of the foot and ankle can affect other joints including the knee, hip and back. Clients are screened for other joint-related issues.
Screenings are scheduled for the community on a regular basis. For information about upcoming screening dates, please call Delnor Rehabilitation Services at 630/443-8202.
